Farmers in Mustang district sold apples worth Rs 420 million. Apple traders from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Narayanghat, Kusma, Baglung and Myagdi reached the apple growers’ orchards in Mustang to purchase the apples.
Asian shares were drifting Thursday as Wall Street’s retreat from recent record highs and a widely awaited European Central Bank meeting gave investors reason to pause.
A total of 75 truckloads or 15 million cartoons of apple have been imported already, central member of Fruit Entrepreneurs Association, Nagendra Das said. There are more than 50 apple wholesalers and around 3,000 retails in eastern region.
